Here we suggest a number of local activities that will fit in perfectly with your vacation. Discover a magnificent, unspoilt fishing port just a few minutes from our campsite in Doelan Clohars Carnoet. Here, you can enjoy a meal or a drink with a breathtaking view of the harbor.
Doelan and its port in the local colors of Southern Brittany
The port of Doelan is often perceived as a postcard setting. With its typical Breton houses overlooking the landscape, you’ll see magnificent green hills that will remind you of the Breton countryside.
You’ll see two lighthouses, red and green, to let you know which shore you’re on. On the right bank, you’ll also find the harbourmaster’s office, from where you can see the mouth of the ria, as well as the fishing boats. On the left bank, you’ll find a magnificent little pink house that serves as a lookout for sailors. You’ll have the opportunity to walk along the quays, to enjoy the scenery that this place has to offer. If you walk up the Quai Kemabat to the end of the ria, you’ll be able to get a closer look at the green lighthouse, but above all, you’ll have a magnificent panoramic view of the port and the ria.
Land and sea activities between Doelan and Le Pouldu
You can enjoy the beaches of Le Pouldu for swimming and sunbathing, but that’s not all. These sites are well known for their magnificent hiking trails. They are accessible to all levels and will give you the peaceful scenery you’re looking for. If you don’t know which hike to take, you can always turn to the Clohars Carnoet tourist office, which will show you the most beautiful places to visit. If you want to stay on dry land, you can also visit the Abbey of Saint-Maurice, a historic abbey site that provides a peaceful setting.
If you’re more into sailing, you can go to the nautical school at Le Pouldu. It’s a great option for those who like light sailing. You can also rent river or sea kayaks. If you’d like to take a cruise, you can do so on the Laïta River, from Doelan to Quimperlé.
