Don’t hesitate to come and see us if you’d like to go for a bike ride. Bike hire is one of the services we offer during your stay. As for hiking enthusiasts, the lovely Finistère walks around the campsite will give you an idea of the extent of the beauty of the painters’ country.
Visit the south of Finistère, in the Quimperlé area
Thanks to our location in South Finistère, on the border with Morbihan, you can explore places of history and nature in constant proximity to the sea. Once you’ve discovered the town and port of Clohars Carnoët from every angle, venture into deepest Brittany or the Gulf of Morbihan.

From Gauguin’s homeland, you can head west to Finistère to discover Cornouaille and the Bigouden region. Near Lorient, visit the famous Morbihan islands and take part in the not-to-be-missed Interceltic Festival in August. The most beautiful sites in Southern Brittany are less than 30 minutes from the campsite!

As for tourist attractions in the immediate vicinity of the campsite, the Quimperlé region has many surprises in store for you: visits to painters’ villages like Pont Aven, the small fishing ports of Doelan and Moelan sur Mer, endless beaches or kayak up the Laïta from Le Pouldu to the medieval town of Quimperlé. Sports activities in and around Clohars Carnoët
The advantage of our region is that you don’t need to spend much time in the car. There really is so much to see and do. Between dips in our pools, don’t hesitate to ask reception for information and help with reservations.

Sports course and orienteering
Not far from the campsite, on the forest road heading towards Quimperlé, a 2-kilometre fitness trail through the Toulfoën forest has been laid out, with obstacles every 200 metres.
A very pleasant family outing. You can also enjoy lovely walks in the Toulfoën forest. Orienteering courses are available from the tourist office.

Golf
There are some good golf courses nearby – Queven and Ploemeur Ocean.
Queven is an easier course… However, we advise you not to play with new balls at Ploemeur Ocean. Departure times can be booked at reception.
Canoeing and kayaking
There are a number of canoeing and kayaking opportunities in the vicinity of camping du Quinquis in South Finistère. You can take the ferry from Pouldu to Guidel (€1 per person) and hire a canoe for an hour or two to enjoy the estuary. This is probably the best option for beginners and young families.

You can also sail up or down the Laïta from Quimperlé to Le Pouldu or vice versa, depending on the tide.
The descent will take around 4 hours, but you can stop and rest as much as you like. If the sun is high, remember to bring water and sun cream. You can book this activity at reception.
Crab fishing
The river estuary at Le Pouldu is a magnificent setting and a lovely place to spend an hour or two.
Nets are on sale at the hardware store in Clohars-Carnoët if you don’t have your own.
Jet ski
For a birthday present or a thrill-seeking activity, you can visit the jet-ski base on the other side of the estuary in the port of Le Pouldu.
You can tour the Ile de Groix or simply hire a jet ski for an hour at sea (with an instructor). You must be at least 16 years old. Children can ride behind adults.
A wetsuit and lifejacket are provided. Once out to sea, you can go full speed ahead through the waves (within reason).

Activities in South Finistère for all the family
Poisson Volant adventure park
In Brittany, in Morbihan, in the Lorient area, 2 km from the sea, 2 km from the town of Ploemeur, come and discover the 13 courses with your family, in a very seaside setting!
The park is open from February to All Saints’ Day.

Quinquis wildlife park
Parc du Quinquis is a small zoo right next to the campsite.
Karl and his team will welcome you and guide you around the small animal park (at the end of our route) where you can see the animals up close and feed the deer by hand.

The animal park also has a lake where residents of the Quinquis campsite are welcome to fish for carp for the price of a zoo ticket.
